Is it safe to reset my boiler?
Yes, once or twice. The reset button is there for you to use. What is not safe is pressing it over and over: if the boiler locks out three times in a row, something is wrong and it needs looking at. Never remove the cover, and if you smell gas, stop and call 0800 111 999.
How do I top up the pressure?
Find the filling loop under the boiler: a short braided hose or a built-in lever with one or two small taps. Open it slowly and watch the gauge climb to about 1.2 bar, then close it fully and reset the boiler. If you cannot find a loop, or the pressure drops again within days, send us a photo and we will talk you through it.
Why does my boiler fault in cold weather?
Usually the condensate pipe, the white plastic pipe that runs outside. It freezes, the boiler cannot get rid of its waste water, and it locks out with an ignition or flame code (EA, F.28, E133, L2). Thaw it with warm water and reset. If it happens every winter, we can insulate or re-route it.
What if my make is not listed?
Send a photo of the display on WhatsApp and we will tell you what it means. We cover Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Potterton, Main, Glow-worm and Viessmann so far, and we add makes as people ask.
